L'utilitaire `admintool` sur les versions 2.5 à 8 de Solaris est vulnérable à un dépassement de tampon (buffer overflow). Un utilisateur local disposant d'un accès basique au système peut exploiter cette faille en fournissant des arguments trop longs pour obtenir les privilèges root complets. Aucune authentification particulière ni interaction utilisateur n'est requise, si ce n'est de posséder un compte local initial sur la machine.

Buffer overflow in admintool in Solaris 2.5 through 8 allows local users to gain root privileges via long arguments to (1) the -d command line option, or (2) the PRODVERS argument in the .cdtoc file.
