Les versions 5.01 à 6 SP1 d'Internet Explorer sont affectées par une faille qui permet à un attaquant de contourner les restrictions des zones de sécurité du navigateur. En incitant un utilisateur à visiter une page malveillante, un attaquant peut exécuter des scripts dans le contexte d'un site plus fiable une fois que l'utilisateur clique sur le bouton « retour ». Cela ne nécessite aucune authentification et seulement un accès réseau, bien que cela dépende de l'interaction de la victime avec une page spécifiquement conçue à cet effet.

Internet Explorer 5.01 through 6 SP1 allows remote attackers to bypass zone restrictions via a javascript protocol URL in a sub-frame, which is added to the history list and executed in the top window's zone when the history.back (back) function is called, as demonstrated by BackToFramedJpu, aka the "Travel Log Cross Domain Vulnerability."
