Les versions 5.01 à 6 SP1 d'Internet Explorer sont affectées par une faille qui permet à un attaquant distant de manipuler les clics de souris et les actions de glisser-déposer entre différentes fenêtres. En visitant une page web malveillante, un attaquant peut contourner les restrictions de sécurité pour contrôler d'autres fenêtres ouvertes sur votre système. Cette attaque est facile à exécuter, car elle ne nécessite aucune authentification et seulement un accès réseau basique via un navigateur web.

Internet Explorer 5.01 through 6 SP1 allows remote attackers to direct drag and drop behaviors and other mouse click actions to other windows by using method caching (SaveRef) to access the window.moveBy method, which is otherwise inaccessible, as demonstrated by HijackClickV2, a different vulnerability than CVE-2003-0823, aka the "Function Pointer Drag and Drop Vulnerability."
