Microsoft Outlook Express (versions 5.5 SP2, 6 et 6 SP1) est affecté par une faille de corruption de mémoire dans son lecteur de news. Un attaquant contrôlant un serveur de news NNTP malveillant peut exécuter du code arbitraire sur votre machine en envoyant une réponse spécialement conçue. Cette attaque ne nécessite aucune authentification ni interaction de l'utilisateur, si ce n'est la connexion de la victime au serveur compromis via le réseau.
