Les utilisateurs d'Apple Mac OS X 10.4.8 sont concernés par une faille de corruption de mémoire dans le contrôleur d'images disque. Un attaquant distant non authentifié pourrait potentiellement exécuter du code arbitraire ou provoquer le plantage du système en incitant un utilisateur à ouvrir un fichier DMG spécialement conçu. Bien que l'exploit soit accessible via le réseau, il nécessite un ensemble de conditions spécifiques et l'interaction de l'utilisateur pour réussir.

com.apple.AppleDiskImageController in Apple Mac OS X 10.4.8, and possibly other versions, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a malformed DMG image that triggers memory corruption. NOTE: the severity of this issue has been disputed by a third party, who states that the impact is limited to a denial of service (kernel panic) due to a vm_fault call with a non-aligned address.
