Apple Installer 2.1.5 sur Mac OS X 10.4.8 est vulnérable à une faille de chaîne de format déclenchée par des noms de fichiers de package spécifiquement conçus. Un attaquant distant peut exécuter du code arbitraire sur le système, mais il doit d'abord inciter un utilisateur à tenter d'ouvrir un fichier PKG, DISTZ ou MPKG malveillant. Bien qu'aucune authentification ne soit requise, l'attaque est difficile à exécuter car elle repose entièrement sur l'interaction réussie de l'utilisateur.
