Apple QuickTime (versions antérieures à 7.3.1) sur Windows XP et Mac OS X est susceptible d'être affecté par une faille de corruption de mémoire. Un attaquant peut exécuter du code arbitraire sur votre système en incitant votre lecteur multimédia ou votre navigateur à se connecter à un serveur RTSP malveillant envoyant une réponse surdimensionnée et spécialement conçue. Cette attaque ne nécessite aucune authentification et peut être réalisée à distance via le réseau, bien qu'elle dépende de l'initiative de l'utilisateur d'établir une connexion vers le serveur de l'attaquant.
