Les versions 2.2.1 et antérieures d'Apache Geronimo sont vulnérables à une attaque par déni de service provoquant une hausse brutale de l'utilisation du processeur. Un attaquant distant non authentifié peut faire planter ou figer le serveur en envoyant une requête spécialement conçue contenant de nombreux paramètres de hachage entrant en collision. Cette attaque est relativement facile à exécuter car elle ne nécessite qu'un accès réseau basique et aucune interaction de l'utilisateur.

Apache Geronimo 2.2.1 and earlier computes hash values for form parameters without restricting the ability to trigger hash collisions predictably, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) by sending many crafted parameters. NOTE: this might overlap CVE-2011-4461.
