Les versions de Google Chrome antérieures à la 35.0.1916.153 sont affectées en raison d'une erreur de gestion de la mémoire dans le décodeur vidéo FFmpeg. Un attaquant distant non authentifié peut provoquer le plantage du navigateur ou potentiellement exécuter du code arbitraire simplement en incitant un utilisateur à visiter un site web hébergeant un fichier vidéo spécialement conçu. Comme cela ne nécessite aucun privilège particulier et présente une faible complexité, l'exploitation est relativement facile via un accès réseau standard.

Heap-based buffer overflow in the FFmpegVideoDecoder::GetVideoBuffer function in media/filters/ffmpeg_video_decoder.cc in Google Chrome before 35.0.1916.153 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact by leveraging VideoFrame data structures that are too small for proper interaction with an underlying FFmpeg library.
