Les noyaux Linux antérieurs à la version 3.16.3 utilisant le système de fichiers distribué Ceph sont concernés. Un attaquant distant et non authentifié peut faire planter votre serveur en envoyant un ticket d'authentification non chiffré dont la taille est excessive, entraînant une corruption de la mémoire et un plantage système (system panic). Cette attaque est relativement simple à exécuter car elle ne nécessite qu'un accès réseau, sans privilèges particuliers ni interaction de l'utilisateur.
