ntfserver est affecté car il télécharge des ressources binaires via le protocole HTTP non chiffré. Un attaquant positionné sur le réseau peut intercepter ces requêtes et remplacer un fichier légitime par un fichier malveillant afin d'exécuter du code arbitraire sur votre système. Cela nécessite que l'attaquant soit en mesure d'effectuer une attaque de type « homme du milieu » (man-in-the-middle), bien que cela ne requière aucune authentification ni interaction de l'utilisateur.

ntfserver is a Network Testing Framework Server. ntfserver downloads binary resources over HTTP, which leaves it vulnerable to MITM attacks. It may be possible to cause remote code execution (RCE) by swapping out the requested binary with an attacker controlled binary if the attacker is on the network or positioned in between the user and the remote server.
