Les utilisateurs d'Iceni Argus sont exposés à un risque s'ils ouvrent un fichier PDF malformé et spécifiquement conçu à cet effet. Un attaquant peut exploiter une erreur de gestion de la mémoire lors de la conversion du PDF pour exécuter du code arbitraire avec les privilèges de l'utilisateur exécutant le logiciel. Cette attaque ne nécessite aucune authentification préalable, mais dépend de l'interaction de l'utilisateur avec le système via l'ouverture du fichier malveillant.

An exploitable heap-based buffer overflow exists in Iceni Argus. When it attempts to convert a malformed PDF with an object encoded w/ multiple encoding types terminating with an LZW encoded type, an overflow may occur due to a lack of bounds checking by the LZW decoder. This can lead to code execution under the context of the account of the user running it.
